Function Terms and Conditions

Function Classification

A function booking refers to any reservation made in a private or shared space at Mary Eats Cake where a minimum number of guests applies and a booking fee is taken to secure the date and time. All function bookings are subject to the Terms & Conditions below.

Booking Fee

A $250 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. Your function is not confirmed until this deposit has been received. This deposit acts as a booking fee and covers administrative costs associated with planning your event. The $250 booking fee will be deducted from the final balance once final numbers and package selections have been provided.

Final Numbers and Package Selection


Final guest numbers and package selections are due at least 2 weeks before your event.

Cancellations & Booking Changes

  • Once you secured your booking with the deposit/ booking fee of $250, you are able to change the date or cancel your booking up to two weeks prior to your event.

  • If you choose to cancel the event with at least 14 days' notice. You will receive a credit of $250 for the deposit paid. 

  • Cancellations made within 14 days of your booking date will result in the $250 booking fee being retained as a cancellation fee. No credit or refund is available.

  • Cancellations made after the invoice has been paid are not eligible for refund or credit.

Change of Date
  • If you need to change the date of your function with at least 14 days' notice, your $250 booking fee can be transferred to the new date.

  • If the date change occurs within 14 days’ of your original booking, the $250 booking fee will be retained as a cancellation fee, and a new booking fee will apply.


Reduction in Guest Numbers
  • No refunds are available for a reduction in the number of guests after the final balance has been paid. 

  • If the number of guests decreases up to 72 hours before your function, a credit voucher may be issued for the value of the High Tea for any guests no longer attending.

  • If the changes are within 72 hours of your function you will be given  the following options:

    • Food served at your function

    • Boxed High Tea to take away

Increase in Guest Numbers
  • Guest numbers can be increased up to 72 hours before your event, subject to availability.

  • Additional guests must be paid in full to confirm their place.

Payments & Refunds

  • The full invoice balance is due by the Monday before your event unless otherwise stated.

  • No refunds are available unless required by law

Session Times

  • Please ensure your group arrives and departs within the allocated session time outlined on your booking confirmation. 

  • Penalty fees may apply if your function exceeds the booked duration.

Decorations

  • You may decorate your function room, provided no damage is caused.

  • Confetti is not permitted.

  • All decorations must be removed at the conclusion of your session.

Marketing & Promotional Content

  • Mary Eats Cake may capture photos or videos within our venues for use in marketing materials, including social media, website content, and print.

  • By attending our venue, you acknowledge and consent to this content being captured and used.

  • If you or your guests prefer not to be photographed or filmed, please:

    • Advise our team on the day, or

    • Contact us in writing before your booking.

Changes to Terms & Conditions

  • Mary Eats Cake reserves the right to modify or update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to existing bookings where applicable.
